A New Blog Manifesto

Introduction to the blog

Introduction

Hello, my name is Kryštof, and welcome to my blog! I’ll be writing about coding and development, primarily focused on the web. But sometimes, I might post about other topics, like experiments with shaders and graphics, game development, or iOS and Swift.

It might seem a bit odd to start a new blog in 2024—almost two decades after the golden age of blogging. It might make more sense to setup a camera and start live streaming, but for me this approach feels more personal and intentional. I’m not here to chase views or build a massive audience (though if you’ve found this, welcome!).

Instead, the purpose of this blog is for me—a digital journal to document what I've learned, solved, and experimented with in my projects. It’s a reference point for future me, a place to track my progress, and, maybe even a resource for anyone who stumbles upon it and wants to follow along.

Topics I want to cover

Here is what I plan to cover:

  • Solved Errors: Short or medium-form write-ups detailing troubleshooting and solutions for errors, mistakes, and other technical issues I encounter.
  • New Concepts / Code Snippets: Brief notes about patterns, ideas, or interesting pieces of code I've come across.
  • Experiments with Code: Longer posts detailing the process of trying new tools, libraries, or approaches.
  • Projects: Long-term series documenting the process of developing bigger projects from start to finish.

Writing Approach

The main challenge is building the habit of writing things down and expanding on those ideas over time. To keep posts clear and accessible, I’ll follow a simple structure:

  • What I Learned: The key takeaway or insight.
  • Why It’s Useful: Context and application.
  • How I Used It: Practical examples or implementations.

Final Thoughts

This blog is my sandbox—a place to explore, document, and share what I’ve learned. It’s also a way to improve my writing skills and, perhaps, take the first steps toward teaching others.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading and I hope you'll find something here that inspires or helps you too.
